When you walk into our store, numerous items will catch your eye
and many you will miss until your third time around. Most items are handmade by disadvantaged artisans all over the
world. Unique little items, beautiful clothing, fine handbags, amazing jewelry, one-of-a-kind pottery-you name it.
No matter
what your style, you will find something. If you are looking for a special gift, you are guaranteed to find something
that says, "This seemed like you." Big or little, everyone is delighted.
The
artisans who create these items are truly inspired and talented. However, a market is not readily available or convenient
to them; hence, the role of "fair trade." Artisans are discovered and encouraged with the hope that not only are they receiving
a truly just income, it will continue, and he or she will be constantly assisted in many, many ways. Each gift is
made with love; each gift returns hope to a family and community.
Many
of the crafts are made with traditional materials following traditional designs. Others are made of recycled cloth, paper
and metal with incredible resourcefulness. Color and texture abound.
T h e M i s s i o n
We are part of the worldwide fair trade movement, which creates opportunities where otherwise
there would be none, helps to alleviate poverty and allows women to work and educate themselves and their children.
We are also thrilled to present the art of several local artists
- jewelry, pottery, and paintings. Along with their art, several will be presenting workshops, generously sharing their
talents with others.
Color, imagination and a community spirit is being fostered here. Please join us as you desire, partaking
of the feast of color, texture and imagination that abounds.
